We already know you鈥檒l be in demand when you graduate from this program, because our graduates usually find employment within the first few months following graduation.
Our graduates are employed at many of the local and regional health care providers, including Community Medicine Associates, Seton Healthcare, Texas Liver Institute and University Health System. The class of 2014 currently has 46.4 percent of our graduates working in primary care, which is an impressive statistic when compared with other Physician Assistant programs.
Students will get more than 2,000 hours of clinical experience during their second and third year in the PA program. Clinical experiences include family medicine, OB/GYN, in-patient, emergency medicine, surgery, and pediatrics. They also will have an opportunity to select elective experiences in cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics, trauma and many others.
Students can select elective experiences that meet their career goals. We encourage students to include these clinical experiences on their curriculum vitae. We encourage our students to be active learners during the program.
